Tyree IHealthE participates in New Zealand HealthTech Week as part of Biobridge delegation
In June 2023, Prof Nigel Lovell and Dr Ian Goon from IHealthE were kindly invited to be part of an Australian delegation that participated in the Te Tītoki Mataora Forum at HealthTech Week in Auckland. Established to catalyse Trans-Tasman collaboration within the health innovation ecosystems of Australia and New Zealand, the visit allowed the IHealthE team to establish deeper links with counterparts in New Zealand and agree on strategic collaborative initiatives to further both research and translation activities.
As part of the forum, Nigel gave a keynote talk on successes and failures in HealthTech translation and described the establishment of IHealthE as important to address some of the issues that were faced by earlier attempts at translation. Ian moderated a panel on community collaboration with 3 panellists engaged in co-design with community members.
IHealthE continues to build international links to enhance our ability to support translational MedTech innovation and looks forward to implementing joint initiatives and translation research with our collaborators in New Zealand.
