We are delighted to share that Prof Arcot Sowmya, a member of the IHealthE Steering Committee, has been honoured at the 2023 Brilliant Women in Digital
Health Awards in recognition of ‘Advancing Medical Research Through Technology’. On October 19th, she joined a remarkable group of nine women, all celebrated for their accomplishments and contributions to the field of digital health. These awards not only recognise their achievements but also serve as a source of inspiration for aspiring leaders in the health and aged care sectors, while promoting increased gender diversity in digital health.
Throughout her career, Sowmya has consistently demonstrated excellence in education and research. Her work has made significant contributions to the fields of computer vision, feature extraction and recognition, biomedical health informatics, and medical image analysis, resulting in tangible societal benefits. Sowmya's research is deeply rooted in collaborative efforts with fellow researchers, end users, and industry partners.
