Lunch with Tyree IHealthE and UNSW Ageing Futures Institute was a great way to launch our first joint event. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Our world is ageing – by 2050 around one-quarter of Australians will be over 65 years old and about 1.8 million Australians will be 85 and over. With most people preferring to age at home – technological innovations and solutions will play a large part to facilitate this independence and optimal ageing.
It was a really insightful session discussing technology and its impact on optimal ageing. Discussion on the day centred around exciting work around wearables for fall detection, radar for fall risk detection, technology to optimise human-computer interaction, and engaging health consumers to create better co-designed solutions. Thank you to all our fantastic speakers:
Dr Reza Argha | Postdoctoral Fellow, Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering
Dr Gelareh Mohammadi | Senior Lecturer, School of Computer Science & Engineering
Dr Michael Stevens | Senior Lecturer, Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering
And thank you to our chairs, Professor Nigel Lovell, Tyree IHealthE, and Dr Dan Dumbrell, Ageing Futures Institute. We look forward to bring you more opportunities from this collaboration.
